The National Junior Basketball League is a nonprofit organization formed in 1984 by Dennis Murphy, Jr., with the vision of young boys and girls from the first through the twelfth grades and their families being involved in youth basketball. The program is designed to develop basketball skills, good sportsmanship, and team competition. NJB has chapters throughout California and nationwide as far as Hawaii, Washington state, Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona and Florida.
The Vallejo chapter of NJB has been in operation for over 14 years and covers the communities of Vallejo, Benicia, and American Canyon. Vallejo NJB is part of the North Bay Section that comprises Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville, and the Petaluma Valley chapters. Last year Vallejo NJB saw over 250 youths participate and expects over 300 players this year.
